My kiddos playing at the very nice Butcher Park in Cambrian, San Jose
Here are the top reasons the neighborhood of Cambrian rocks my world (in no particular order)…
- Great schools
- Excellent for trick-or-treating
- Pretty, tree-lined streets and consistent neighborhoods
- Big 24-Hour Fitness on Hillsdale with a pool and basketball court
- 5 minutes away from other fun areas for dining and shopping: Willow Glen, Campbell, Los Gatos
- Beautiful views of the Los Gatos mountains
- Neighbors know each other and do nice things for each other (like sharing their awesome zucchini bread – thanks Anna!)
- Great value in real estate – Homes sell between 550k and 900k, more or less, which is very good considering the quality of schools, central location, and the attractive neighborhood
- No bad smells, flight paths, or prisons to worry about
- Great grocery stores
- Farmers market on Wednesdays at the shopping center on Union and Camden
- Neighborhood block parties
- Group garage sales
- I feel safe jogging
- People decorate their homes for the holidays
- Awesome new library on Hillsdale at Ross. (Across from Target).
- Lots of professional, down-to-earth families
- Tons of kids
- Speaking of kids, mine love the green tractors that pick up your curbside green waste every week.
- And finally… great parks, including Butcher Park on Ross which has a very nice dog park!
